Our Mission

The mission of the Foundation is the renaissance of the civic philanthropy and charity in the Donetsk local community as means of solving the most urgent social problems. This should be accomplished by popularization, initiation, consolidation, and coordination of philanthropic activities performed by commercial, social and state organizations as well as by individual citizens.

Our Objectives

• To monitor the philanthropic problems in Donetsk, Ukraine and abroad.
• To stimulate the gratuitous and voluntary donations to the most urgent charity projects of Donetsk local community with Social marketing in Donetsk region.
• To provide informational and consulting services to organizations, specialists and other people involved in charity activities in order to make it more effective.
• Researching successful methods and types of civil charity in Donbass, Ukraine and abroad and implementing them in Donetsk local community.
• Coordinating and consolidating the philanthropic activity of businesses, public, state organizations and private individuals.

Our History

Dobrota was registed by the city mayor law no. 158 on February 6th 1998. It was then re-registered by the Justice Department as a non-governmental, non-profit on August 20th 1998.

The impetus for establishing the Foundation was the significant reduction of the national budget investment for health care, education and social protection institutions. This led to the impoverishment of the most vulnerable of the Donetsk population: the disabled, orphans, seriously ill children, and many children families.

A team of doctors from Donetsk initiated this Foundation. They proceeded from the fact that humanitarian aid from abroad gives rise to dependant trends within society; therefore, the charity of Ukrainian citizens and companies could and should be a decisive factor in solving this problem. But, unfortunately, the traditions of charity as a public responsibility that existed in Ukraine last century have been lost at the present moment.

The activity of the Foundation is based on the assumption that kindness and active charity are those features that more or less are inherent in almost every civilized person.
